Learning Recommendations:  This course is designed to build upon the skills and techniques learned in Photo 1 and Photo 2. It is designed for students who want to pursue a career in a photography related field.

General DescriptionIn Photography 3, students will gain a greater understanding of their own photographic goals by pushing themselves to conceptualize their images and improve technique. While working towards their individual goals, students will have the opportunity to work in both traditional black and white, as well as digital photography. Students will also use the tools of photography as they explore creative possibilities, and build their own portfolio. With the opportunity to research a college/career path in a photography related field which interests them, they may build their portfolio’s to align with specific application requirements.

  • Processing, printing, and exhibiting skills
  • Advanced post editing techniques
  • Portfolio and Resume building
  • Critiques and presentations
  • Local gallery, museum, and college visits
  • Mock interviewing
  • College and career research

Strategies:  Students will learn through a combination of:

  • Hands on experience
  • Individual and group work
  • Modeling
  • Research
  • Goal Setting

Homework:  5- 25 photos per project may be required to be taken outside of class, while students continue working on their individual goals as they build their portfolios.

Course Fee / Materials:  Digital Cameras and Adobe CC will be provided, Students will need to pay a $15 art fee and purchase any materials based on individual needs such as film, photo paper, SD cards, etc.
