Learning Recommendations: Ability to sing in tune.
General Description: This is a year-long elective course for the musically advanced student in grades 10-12 and 9th grade men. Members are given the opportunity to perform a wide variety of choral literature for mixed choir. This choir is the culminating activity in the vocal music curriculum of the school.
Content: Emphasis is placed on group rehearsal techniques, voice production, sight-singing techniques and interpretations of periods and styles. Concert Chorale participates in an all day festival field trip in the Spring.
Strategies: Learning includes large group, small groups, and section rehearsals and individual work on music theory as well as solo opportunities if desired.
Homework: There are a limited number of evening and after school concerts and events as well as a Fall weekend retreat.
