Learning Recommendations:  Successful completion of two or more years of band or the equivalent of private instruction.  Audition Required. Students are expected to perform in the Marching & Pep Bands.

General Description:  Wind Ensemble is a yearlong elective course that gives the advanced instrumental music student an opportunity for additional development.   Performances include concerts, contests, festivals, assemblies, parades, field shows and community functions. 

Content:  Students perform with a fine tone quality in a variety of styles, demonstrate a variety of articulations plus demonstrate an advanced understanding of the elements of notation and music vocabulary.

Strategies:  The focus is on refining performance techniques. 

Homework:  Practice at home for at least 30-60 minutes each day.
