General Description: This class is meant to prepare students to take the AP exam in the spring. It will give an analytical perspective on government and politics in the United States. The course will cover the constitutional underpinnings of democracy, political beliefs and mechanisms and federal institutions, public policy, civil rights and civil liberties. This course also focuses on current political events. This course fulfills the senior social studies, civics or an elective requirement. Students taking the AP test will have to pay the exam fee.
