Learning Recommendations: Students should have a “C” or higher in HFL100-Intro to Culinary Arts

General Description: The Culinary Arts program can start you on your way to a professional career in foodservice and/or business management. You’ll practice these skills by working in The L Café, Liberty’s student-run restaurant. This course offers an opportunity to earn college credits, participate in culinary competitions and earn scholarships.

Strategies: Students learn through a combination of:

  • Teacher demonstrations
  • Student run café
  • Leadership – 10 – 20 hours per semester outside of class, L’Café catering, before/after school, as well as many other options, per instructor
  • Culinary competitions

Note: Completion of this course with a B or better qualifies students for college credit at various community & technical college programs in our area.
