FINE ART CREDIT NOTE: This course counts as a fine art credit for graduation but may not meet the four-year college admissions requirement for Fine/Visual/Performing Arts.

The Fashion Design and Merchandising program exposes students to careers in and skills needed for employment in the fashion industry. The program focuses on textiles, fashion sketching, the elements and principles of design, basic sewing techniques and construction, trends, forecasting, sustainability, styling and visual merchandising. In each course students build a portfolio that can be used to interview for schools, employment, and internships. The fashion program will be affiliated with FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) and may be used as a fine art credit.

Equipment Required by Student: Students will be asked to provide fabric for a couple of sewing projects or choose from donated fabric.
