Learning Recommendations: Must be enrolled in Teaching Academy. Credit is 1.0 or .5 depending on hours earned. (90 hours = .5 and 45 hours = .25)

General Description: This course allows students concurrently taking Teaching Academy 1 or Teaching Academy 2 to earn credit for internship hours earned beyond the school day. In these Work Site Internship hours students are expected to demonstrate, both academically and personally, the ability to think and act independently.

Content:

  • Students learn current issues in education, teaching procedures, classroom management and professionalism.
  • Students observe in a variety of classrooms and have an opportunity to practice their own teaching skills in a supervised internship experience.
