Fee: IB evaluation fee as appropriate

Learning Recommendations: For IB Diploma or IB Certificate candidates without a specific science, engineering, or mathematics focus. Pre-Calculus is a requirement for IB Mathematical Studies, but may be taken concurrently. This is a self-guided course, with classes offered outside of the school day, and requires students to be able to work independently.

General Description: IB Mathematical Studies is a general mathematics survey course that prepares students to take the IB Mathematical Studies exam. This course covers a broad array of topics from a variety of mathematical disciplines, and is intended to be a broad overview of high school mathematics.

This course is designed for an independent student who does not plan to have a specific focus on mathematics, engineering, or science after high school. All students in this course will be required to complete the IB Internal Assessment. IB dictates that students may not sit for exams until the spring of their junior year.

The course begins in Spring Quarter, one year before the planned examination. Students should contact the IB Coordinator and the Instructor for additional details and meeting times.
