General Description: In this course, students actively apply STEM professions as they solve problems relating to environmental and sustainability issues impacting their future. A major component of this course is hands-on work in the lab and/or out in the field. It is also a unique transdisciplinary course. It not only covers environmental systems, but emphasizes human attitudes to the environment and interrelationships between the natural environment and human activities. Because it is transdisciplinary, it satisfies the requirements for both group 3 and 4. This course fulfills (1) college prep science requirement as a lab-based science course.
