General Description: This class is designed for Class Council Representatives and students who would like to be a part of ASB, but cannot fit it into their schedule due to Core24 and/or want a more class council focus, rather than ASB. Students will learn a weekly lesson to build their leadership skills. Some of these lessons will be about planning process, leadership style, teamwork, communication, program solving and conflict resolution, stress management, and many more skills that will help them to work as leaders for their class. They will also complete a variety of tasks including group and individual projects, reflecting on those projects, class assignments, attendance at SHS activities, and a very strong involvement in serving Skyline High School and the surrounding community. A significant requirement for this class is participation in activities beyond the school day.
The purpose of this course is to help students identify and develop specific leadership skills that will aid them in their leadership role both in and out of school.
