General Description: An introductory course to learn the basics and fundamentals of creating three-dimensional artwork using a variety of media. This course will introduce the principles and elements of design. This is a messy class and students should be prepared to encounter many different textures and materials.

Content:

• Materials may include: clay, plaster, foam, paper, glue, wire, soap, found objects
• Elements and principles of art and design
• Technical art skills
• Art history

Strategies: Students will learn through a combination of:

• Hands-on projects
• Direct instruction and demonstrations
• Skill development

Equipment to be provided by Student: Pencil, notebook or sketchbook, gloves if needed
