Learning Recommendations: Students assist with the Special Education students in the LRC II program. Students need to be mature, able to hold confidential information, disciplined, flexible, and reliable. Prior teacher approval is required so along with signing up, please contact the teacher or counselor via email.
General Description: Students taking this class will not only be earning a semester of P.E. credit by actively participating in various physical activities (games, runs, etc.), but also interacting with and helping students who have a wide range of disabilities. This semester class will incorporate strategies learned along the way into all of the P.E. activities and is a great chance to create a fun, positive, safe, and interactive environment.
Content: The students will participate in a wide variety of P.E. activities. These are team sports, individual sports, strength training, flexibility activities, yoga, dancing, and various stations working on gross and fine motor skills. Students will be able to experience adapting these sports to create a classroom environment that finds success among all students. Students will also participate in various cardiovascular activities culminating in a 5km run at the end of the semester.
Equipment to be provided by Student: Skyline Physical Education T-Shirt - $8 for cotton, $10 for performance. If there is a concern about the cost, please see your counselor.
