General Description:  Entry level cooking class designed to give students the opportunity to cook a variety of foods using many different techniques.

Content:  Preparation techniques for breads, eggs, dairy, fruits, vegetables and meats. Instruction on proper use of culinary equipment, including knives, hand tools and small appliances.

Strategies:  In class instruction and hands-on learning preparing many types of foods.

Homework:  Minimal as most of the work is done in class during the cooking labs.  2-3 Home cooking projects preparing a meal for your family. 1-2 Cooking technique assignments prepared at home.

Course Fee / Materials:  $30 fee to cover the cost of food
