General Description: This course is designed to help students develop the skills and knowledge that they need to be engaged citizens. Students will examine the structure of government as the United States Constitution describes it and as the federal system shapes it. The experience of citizenship will also be examined – civil rights and liberties, influences on political opinion, and the electoral process. Finally, students will be expected to apply course material to issues that are important to them.
