Learning Recommendations:  Basic level of physical fitness.  Have the ability to hike at a brisk pace uphill.

General Description:  This course will utilize local trails to improve overall physical fitness. In addition to hiking, students will also complete other cardiorespiratory fitness activities and strength training activities to get an overall exposure to fitness. Activities might include jogging, yoga, plyometrics, crossfitness, and more.

Content:  Hiking safety, hiking local trails, and cardiovascular endurance training.

Strategies:  Hiking local trails and jogging around the community to increase cardiorespiratory endurance and fitness.

Homework:  One short assignment (10-15 minutes) every other week.
