The study of English or Language Arts is essential in our growing global society. With the dawn of technology, communication has become a more prevalent skill which we must all master. Our ability to successfully communicate across all modes is paramount in the success of humankind.
As our students graduate and leave the halls of IHS the English Department will endeavor to prepare them with skills honed and mastered in the six essential parts of Language Arts. Reading, writing, speaking, listening, viewing and visually representing are the main components lessons are built upon. Students have many opportunities through a variety of core classes as well as electives to expand their skills.
Please carefully read the descriptions of the courses in order to choose the right class for your needs. We encourage and welcome any student who wants to ask us questions about course selection. We want you to succeed and enjoy helping you any way we can.
