**Learning Recommendations**: This course is designed for students to take after successfully completing CC8/Algebra 1 or Algebra 1. Students who have struggled in math previously are strongly encouraged to enroll concurrently in CC Geometry Lab (MT204 A/B).

**General Description**: This course is aligned with the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics. The Mathematical Practice Standards apply throughout this course and, together with the content standards, prescribe that students experience mathematics as a coherent, useful, and logical subject that makes use of their ability to make sense of problem situations.

**Content**: Critical areas include, but are not limited to:

- Foundations of Geometry
- Parallel and Perpendicular Lines
- Transformations
- Triangle Congruence
- Relationships in Triangles
- Quadrilaterals and other Polygons
- Similarity
- Right Triangles and Trigonometry
- Coordinate Geometry
- Circles
- 2 and 3-Dimensional Models
- Conditional Probability

**Strategies**: Students will learn through a combination of:

- Collaborative instructional approach
- Direct Instruction
- Technology enhanced instruction

**Equipment to be provided by student**: Ruler, Compass, Protractor, and Scientific Calculator. If you need to purchase a scientific calculator, the TI-30XIIS is recommended. For families considering investing in a graphing calculator, the TI-Nspire (Not CAS) is recommended. A graphing calculator is NOT required until CC Algebra 2 and above.
