General Description:

  • This one-year course builds on concepts presented in General Chemistry.  It is designed for students of high ability and interest.
  • This course is designed to provide a solid, first-year college chemistry experience, both conceptually and in the laboratory. The labs serve to supplement the learning in the lecture section of the course. Problem solving skills, both on paper and in the lab, are emphasized. There are weekly labs.
  • This course fulfills (1) college prep science requirement, as outlined by the Washington Student Achievement Council (WSAC) as a lab-based or algebra based science course.

There will be an accelerated review of  the following:

  • molar relationships
  • electronic structure
  • periodicity
