Learning RecommendationsIN500 A/B - Introduction to Sports Medicine

General Description: This course builds on Intro to Sports Medicine as students gain a greater understanding of the structure and function of the human body as it relates to injury and illness. Students integrate science, physical skill, clinical experience, and job readiness skills. The skills learned can be applied to everyday life scenarios that will follow students throughout their lives.  The standards for this course are based on the National Athletic Trainers’ Association’s six domains of responsibility/education, the Next Generation Science Standards and the Career and Technical Education Therapeutic and Sports Medicine competencies strands.

Students enrolling in Advanced Sports Medicine - Evaluation are required to enroll in Advanced Sports Medicine - Evaluation Internship during which students will act as student aides, putting their sports medicine skills learned in the classroom to work for Liberty athletes under the supervision of our Certified Athletic Trainer.  Please see the IN511A/B - Adv Sports Med - Evaluation Internship course description for further details.
