Learning Recommendations: An interest in learning about criminal law and the procedures that police use to enforce them.

General Description: This course will expose students to many aspects of the criminal justice system including federal, state, and local law enforcement procedures, and the courtroom - criminal trial process.  Students will be involved in activities intended to promote individual leadership skills, career exploration, occupational skills awareness, and critical thinking.  The Criminal Justice course is enriched with guest speakers from police departments, courts, corrections, and other agencies representing a broad spectrum of subjects and issues.

Note: Students who complete both Criminal Justice 1 and SST506 - Criminal Justice 2 with a "B" average may qualify for college credit at various community and technical college programs.
