Learning Recommendations: An interest in learning about the Criminal Justice System. This second semester course builds on the learning of Criminal Justice 1 while focusing on the Criminal Court System and Corrections.

While is it not a requirement for student to take SST505 - Criminal Justice 1 prior to this course, it is highly recommended.

General Description: This course will expose students to other components of the vast Criminal Justice System. Focus is on the courts, how to argue a criminal case in court, corrections and alternatives to incarceration, as well as the juvenile justice system. Students will be involved in activities intended to promote individual leadership skills, career exploration, occupational skills awareness, and critical thinking. The Criminal Justice course is enriched with guest speakers from courts, corrections, and other agencies representing a broad spectrum of subjects and issues.
