General Description: This course emphasizes understanding technical innovation and daily business functions, including marketing, human resources, management and finance. Students in their first year (SL) of IB Business Management have the option of sitting for the Standard Level exam in May.

Students learn through a combination of:

  • Direct instruction
  • Written assignment where students must solve a real business situation
  • Participation in DECA
  • Use of technology
  • Discussion and critical thinking

Equipment to be provided by Student: None

Note: Students join DECA and take an active role in DECA conferences. This provides students with the opportunity to travel and meet students from Washington State and throughout the United States.
