General Description: This survey course is designed to offer students a hands-on introduction to computer science and the technologies that surround us every day. Students will learn about how computer technologies work and the ideas behind them. The course will introduce the students to fundamental Computational Thinking (CT) skills such as Decomposition, Pattern recognition, Abstraction and Automation. The students will also learn to program and implement the ideas applying the CT skills they have learned into working projects.


Students will learn through a combination of:

  • Direct instruction
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Individual and group work
  • Use of technology
